ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

 

Laurel Links Country Club is seeking a motivated, passionate, and detail-oriented Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our golf course maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to grow professionally while helping maintain exceptional playing conditions at one of Long Island's premier private golf clubs.

 

The Assistant Superintendent will work directly with the Golf Course Superintendent in all aspects of golf course maintenance and daily operations. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing championship-quality playing conditions, enjoys leading a team, and is eager to continue learning and advancing in the golf course industry.

 

Responsibilities

Assist with daily planning and execution of golf course maintenance.

Supervise, train, and motivate maintenance staff.

Schedule and monitor daily crew assignments.

Assist with pesticide and fertilizer applications.

Monitor irrigation system performance and make necessary adjustments.

Scout for turf diseases, insects, weeds, and other turf stress issues.

Maintain high-quality putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and landscape areas.

Assist with water management and moisture monitoring.

Ensure safe operation and maintenance of equipment.

Help prepare the golf course for tournaments and member events.

 

Qualifications

Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred.

Previous golf course maintenance experience required.

New York State Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within an agreed-upon timeframe.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Knowledge of irrigation systems and golf course equipment.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

$85,000+ and Year End Bonus
